Privacy

This page is written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, write to study@biharscholars.com and a person will explain it.

What we collect

When you fill in the form on this site, we collect your name, your WhatsApp number, your district or city, the country you would like to study in, and the stage you have reached in your education. We also record whether a student or a parent filled in the form, the page you were on, and the fact that you ticked the consent box, with the time. If you message us on WhatsApp or by email, we keep that conversation.

If you go on to apply through us, we also collect what a university application needs. That includes marksheets, passport details, test scores and financial documents. We ask for each of these only when it is needed, and we tell you why.

Why we collect it

We use your details to call you back, to build your shortlist, to prepare and submit your applications, to help with your visa, and to keep you updated. We do not use your details for anything you would not expect.

Who sees it

• The Bihar Scholars team working on your file.
• The universities you choose to apply to, because an application cannot reach them in any other way.
• Service providers who help us run the site and store data securely. They work under contract, and only for that purpose.

We never sell your details, and we never pass your number to other consultancies.

Where it is kept and for how long

Your details are stored in a secure cloud database. An enquiry that does not go any further is deleted after 24 months. Application files are kept for as long as we need them to support you. They are then deleted or made anonymous, unless the law requires us to keep them for longer.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. You can withdraw your consent at any time by messaging us. If you are under 18, we ask for the consent of a parent or guardian before we take any documents from you. For anything related to privacy, write to study@biharscholars.com with “Privacy” in the subject line.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use advertising cookies. We may use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits without identifying you. The site stores nothing about you in your browser, except your own preferences if you choose to set them later.
