You will be the one signing the paperwork, so here is the whole picture.

Most of our first calls come from parents rather than students. We are glad that they do. This page is written for you.

Three answers every parent deserves

Where is my child’s application right now?

On their journey page. It is a simple page that shows the seven stages, the stage they have reached, and what happens next. Your child can share it with you in one tap, and you can ask us to send you the same updates that they receive. You will never have to chase anyone for news.

Who is responsible for it?

One named counsellor, from the first call until your child arrives. You receive their name and their number in writing. If that counsellor is away, we tell you who is covering and for how long. There are no call centres, and nobody will tell you that someone will get back to you later.

What happens if the visa is refused?

This can happen, even with a strong application. We tell you the real reason in plain language. If it can be corrected, we correct it and apply again. If the honest answer is that this plan will not work, we say so and talk through the alternatives. You have paid us nothing for the guidance, so there is nothing to lose with us.

Where the money goes, line by line.

Before anyone pays anything, you receive one sheet with the full cost of the first year, item by item.

University fees Paid by you to the university, usually in instalments, through the university’s own payment page.
Living costs Rent, food, transport and phone. We show you an honest range for each city, marked as an estimate with the month we checked it.
Visa and health surcharge Paid by you to the government of the country, through its official website.
Flights, deposit, first month One-off costs that families often forget. They appear on your cost sheet from the first day.
Our guidance Nothing. The guidance is free for students. If your child chooses an optional paid extra, such as a professionally written statement of purpose, you receive the price in writing before anyone agrees to it.

Before you say yes to anyone, ask these four questions.

Ask them of every agent, including us. A good agent will answer all four clearly. A dishonest one will change the subject.

How to check us
  1. 01

May I have the counsellor’s name and number in writing?

  2. 02

Will the offer letter come from the university’s own system, so that I can check it myself?

  3. 03

What exactly am I paying for, to whom, and what is the refund rule for each payment?

  4. 04

What happens if the visa is refused?

Talk to a person first.

Message us, or write to study@biharscholars.com. We will call you back at a time that suits the family.
